Unlocking Girls’ Potential in Conflict-Affected Areas of Uganda

GFC is applying a grassroots investment model by identifying, supporting, and strengthening innovative, cost-effective secondary-level education and training models that engage and retain girls and young women that are conflict-affected. As country M&E partner our role has been to conduct a baseline among recruited beneficiaries, a capacity needs assessment among the partners and undertake M&E capacity building for the partners, facilitate partners to undertake midterm and eventually end-line data collection and processing.

We are currently the country M&E partner with the Global Fund for Children on a project that is bringing together 7 organizations, 2 of them in the West Nile region Life Concern (LICO) located in Zombo and Rural Initiative for Community Empowerment-West Nile (RICE-WN) located in Arua; 1 organization, COBURWAS International Youth Organization to Transform Africa (CIYOTA) located in Western Uganda specifically in Hoima works with refugee girls from Kyangwali to support their education. These organizations work with both in school and out of school girls.
