The Young Researchers’ Forum is supported by the FORD Foundation has enabled us to pilot how to strengthen policy focus in research while remaining conscious of scholarly concerns about empirical rigor in research methodologies/ protocols. Under this initiative Associates Research has:
- Used mentorship to bridge the gap in research experience across different generations of researchers in the land sector.
- Brought technocrats in land management and administration institutions into main stream research by creating panels of experts to make inputs into research deliverables.
We have successfully influenced the National Land Policy Implementation Unit in the Ministry of Lands Housing and Urban Development in Uganda to include a recurrent & re-inventive Monitoring and Evaluation framework as part of policy implementation. The forum has studied CCOs and titling as customary tenure transforms, use of scorecards to assess land reforms and systematic demarcation of land.
